At the risk of sounding phony and cliché, all weddings are actually pretty special to us on some level. I’m sure my personal reasons vastly differ from Andre’s reasons on why photographing weddings is a special thing, however, I promise you each wedding always has a moment at the very least that means something.

This one is a tiny bit more special because I photographed it on my day of birth. May 19th to be exact. A big milestone birthday – the big THREE-OH.

Waking up in the morning I already had feelings that were a mixture of existential, nostalgia, and underlying euphoria. It’s a weird feeling to not only be working on your birthday but especially working at a job that I spent pretty much most if not all of my 20’s trying to create – my own photography company. The underlying euphoria was knowing that I ‘made it happen’ and that till this day I pride myself on my skill and enjoyment of the job.

The way that Tiffany & Jared set up this day was straightforward and minimal in the best ways possible. With what might sound like a weird description, their day is best put as – honest. True to them. It allowed them to feel comfortable, still checking off traditional wedding practices but in their own way.

For prospective couples looking for a great downtown venue that’s lowkey, hassle-free, and beautiful… we 100% would recommend you guys checking out The Berkeley Field House.

Enjoy the photos : )
